The best starting point for exploring the Pearl of Africa. About Entebbe. The historical town of Entebbe is the ideal starting point for exploring the Pearl of Africa. Entebbe International airport has direct flights to many European and African cities. Entebbe town itself is the former capital of Uganda, and a pleasant small African town on the northern shore of Lake Victoria. The extensive National Botanical Gardens were laid out already in 1898, and well worth a visit. In Entebbe you also find Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) and Uganda National Zoo. State House, the official residence of the President of Uganda, is located in Entebbe. From Entebbe you can take the ferry to the still pristine Ssese islands in Lake Victoria. Ngamba Chimpanzee Island Sanctuary is about an hours boat ride from Entebbe. Entebbe has a well kept and known golf course. The market days in Entebbe (Tuesdays and Saturdays) give you a chance to meet all kinds of people. Entebbe has several large hotels and night clubs, as well as a good selection of restaurants. In Entebbe you will find Safari companies that will take you to the national parks of Uganda. Entebbe is the home of the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI). In Entebbe you will find many international organisation, including the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) secretariat and Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project. UN has a large peace keeping mission (MONUSCO) that uses Entebbe as its logists base. The capital of Uganda, Kampala, is 45 kilometres from Entebbe.
The owners cousin lives in a smaller house behind the main house, and can provide bed linen, breakfast and washing. This can be arranged in advance or upon arrival. The cost for providing bed linen is 5 USD per person per change, and continental breakfast is 5 USD per person per day.

Rental Notes The rental rates include water and electricity, as well as complete kitchen equipment. Bed linen and towels can be supplied for a cost of 5 USD per person and change. Continental breakfast can also be supplied for an addition cost of 5 USD per person per day. Laundry can be arranged. Cleaning is not included, but can be supplied for an extra charge dependent on your requirements. A final cleaning fee of 25 USD must be deposited, but is refunded if the guest(s) clean the house upon departure. Security deposite depends on the length of stay. Note: we can also rent out the house for longer(three months to one year) periods.
